MISSION

The Friends of Black Rock High Rock is a 501(c)(3) organization which helps manage the resources of the Black Rock Desert region and educates the public to foster stewardship and preserve its unique character.

VISION

The Black Rock Desert High Rock Canyon Emigrant Trails National Conservation Area (NCA) recognizes significant resources of value to the nation, and the world. Citizens who live in the region, and those attracted from a distance, should be actively engaged in its stewardship. Education and outreach will empower people to protect resources and enjoy them more, and special natural conditions will be preserved for future generations.

HOW DO WE DO IT?

We:

* train volunteers to monitor, stabilize, restore, and respect resources;

* engage visitors and educate the public;

* provide interpretive tours, events, broadcasts, websites, and publications;

* work with diverse interests, including gateway communities, recreation groups, land owners, public agencies, and other stakeholders.
